Ok, so it was a lousy pun. Did you even get it? I was hoping that my post title would give me a chance to write about Matt Damon (my only true celebrity crush), in Goodwill Hunting. Did it work? Actually, this post is about something much better than my action movie heartthrob loving heart. It’s about a desk. Not just any desk though, a Goodwill desk. My husband often works from home, and our home office is currently located on a little loft above our living room. Not so good with two loud kids milling about all day. The poor man has taken to sequestering himself in one of the upstairs bedrooms to work. All day. Day after day. He needs a good work space. Enter the Goodwill desk:
I searched for the perfect desk for awhile, and I actually really love this little beauty – the color and everything. Unfortunately though, it has a little too much “patina”.
Fortunately for you, this means project time! I haven’t completely decided what color to do it yet, but I’m leaning towards white with robin’s egg dry brushing, much like this gorgeous armoire from Paint Me White.
I also love the fun color of this desk, which happens to be so similar to mine it’s not even funny, from Sweet Pickins Furniture. Don’t you just love the knobs?
I also absolutely love this idea of lining drawers with pretty paper from Material Girls Blog. If I don’t use it on the Goodwill desk, I will definitely be using it on another project.
But mostly, I really want the look and feel of my bamboo desk to be like this bamboo desk which was featured on Apartment Therapy. Absolutely gorgeous.
So, I have a lot to think about, and a lot to do. Wish me luck! Tips and suggestions are totally, absolutely, one-hundred percent welcome!

Oh baby. cute cute. (Matt) lol ok. SO the Desk is cute too. I think the blue on the open hutch is my fave, only because I pinned that too and lately want everything to be blue.:) Good luck! Can’t wait to see it all done. Do a tutorial of your step by steps so you can share! I love seeing how people re-do their furniture.
Thanks! I will definitely do that!
